# Developing digital skills among residents of the Supraśl municipality and the Białystok district

Developing the digital skills of older people in the Supraśl municipality and the Białystok district.

## About the project

Developing the digital skills of older people in the Supraśl municipality and the Białystok district.

The Zdrowe Miasto Foundation is running an innovative project aimed at strengthening the digital skills of older people living in the Supraśl municipality and the Białystok district. Through these activities, participants will gain the skills needed to move confidently in the world of new technology, which will significantly improve the quality of their everyday life.

The project focuses on countering digital exclusion through education and practical support, helping older people become active users of new technology. At the same time it aims to improve quality of life in retirement by enabling older people to use digital tools, which increases their independence and comfort. Another important aspect is the social activation of participants through their involvement in volunteering and the promotion of intergenerational support.

The project includes digital workshops for 250 older people, among them 120 from the Supraśl municipality and 120 from the Białystok district, with each group attending 20 hours of classes. In addition, 10 older people with disabilities will receive individual support adapted to their needs. An important element is the creation of a Senior Digital Academy, which will operate in a central location in Supraśl and will offer participants daily help with official matters, filling in applications and using e-services. A further activity will be the development of a Knowledge Base of Senior Digital Practices, based on an analysis of older people's skills gaps and adapted to their needs. Twenty senior volunteers will also be involved in the project, acting as mentors and supporting the delivery of activities.

This project is an important step towards the digital inclusion of older people and towards countering their social exclusion. More details about the project can be found on Facebook.

The project is co-financed by the multiannual government programme for Older People "Aktywni+" for 2021–2025, 2024 edition.
